Bellosguardo Welcomes the Santa Barbara Symphony for First-Ever 4th of July Outdoor Pops Concert

Featuring Emmy Award-Winner Jane Lynch in a Special Performance of The Gettysburg Address from An American Story by Hershey Felder

Bellosguardo and The Santa Barbara Symphony are proud to announce a landmark cultural event this summer: the first-ever outdoor Fourth of July Pops concert at the historic Bellosguardo Estate.

This sold-out event is scheduled for Friday, July 4, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 pm with the performance taking place from 5:30 pm – 7:00 pm. This patriotic celebration will take place on the estate’s seaside lawn, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. In this stirring tribute to America’s heritage, Maestro Nir Kabaretti, The Symphony’s Music & Artistic Director, will lead the orchestra in a program of beloved patriotic anthems and popular classics —celebrating the spirit of freedom, community, and artistic excellence.

Adding a dramatic and emotional highlight to the program is Emmy Award-winning actress and comedian Jane Lynch, who will perform “The Gettysburg Address” from “An American Story,” with music and text by Hershey Felder, based on an original letter by Dr. Charles Augustus Leale. Lynch is a five-time Emmy winner, best known for her iconic portrayal of Sue Sylvester on Glee. She currently hosts FOX’s revival of Weakest Link and appears in Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building. Jane moved to Santa Barbara almost five years ago and loves living here.

“The Symphony fuels community collaboration, and we are honored to be part of this historic moment as the Bellosguardo Foundation opens its gates to the community in such a powerful and joyful way,” said Kathryn R. Martin, President & CEO of the Santa Barbara Symphony. “There is something profoundly moving about celebrating Independence Day with music at a place so rich with artistic beauty and historical significance.”

This inaugural event marks the concert hosted on the Bellosguardo lawn and reflects the Foundation’s commitment to transforming the estate into a vibrant hub for art and culture.

“Bellosguardo was always meant to inspire, and what better way to begin than by inviting the community to gather for an unforgettable Fourth of July concert with the Santa Barbara Symphony,” said Jeremy Lindaman, President of the Bellosguardo Foundation. “This performance is a  key part of our mission to the property as a place to foster and promote the arts.”

This is a sold-out event — persons without tickets will be turned away.
