Christine has lived in Santa Barbara since 1997. A graduate of USC School of Law (1977), she was formerly a litigation lawyer in Los Angeles, and then in Santa Barbara. After taking an early retirement (gratitude to her husband Michael), she spent several semesters auditing classes in art history at UCSB. She soon got involved in the nonprofit world, mostly in arts and music organizations.
The Arts Fund – early 2000s. Board member for 5 years; President of the Board.
Tri Counties Regional Services – Foster Grandparent Program – member of the Advisory Council for approximately 5 years.
Santa Barbara Museum of Art Docent Council –member of Docent Council since 2005. Has been an active touring docent, researching and touring many exhibits over 21 years, and often acting as team leader of tour teams.
Elected to Docent Council Board in 2006, and has served on the board continuously since that time. Has held various positions including Membership Chair, Secretary, Adult Tour Chair, Vice-President, and President.
The Ensemble Theatre Company – Board member approximately 8 years. President of the Board for two years, August 2011 to August 2013.
Music Academy of The West – Serves on the Advisory Committee for the Compeer Program. Has been a Compeer for the last 10 years.
Opera Santa Barbara – Board member since approximately 2018; serves as Vice President. Has served on the Executive Committee for the last 2 years.
Santa Barbara Museum of Art Board of Trustees – served on the Board for the last 6 years. Active with the Collections Committee and the Development Committee.
Santa Barbara Rotary Sunrise – Rotary member since 2000. Serves on the Community Service Committee and Chairs the Social Events Committee.
Interests: French language conversation groups; book groups; pilates classes; member of The Santa Barbara Master Chorale; member of the Santa Barbara Symphony Chorus (Verdi Requiem, Brahms Requiem, Mozart Requiem); member of The University Club.
