Adam Berger is a Managing Director of Insight Partners, a global software private equity firm based in New York with over $80B of assets under management and satellite offices in London, Tel Aviv and San Francisco. Mr. Berger joined Insight in 2018 and was appointed to the firm’s investment committee in 2022. He focuses on buyouts, majority investments and structured equity with a daily focus on operational leadership. Adam currently serves as Chairperson on Diligent, Distrokid, PDI Technologies, Optimizely, CivicPlus and Rithum, and serves as Insight’s lead director on Gelato, Comply365, Saks Fifth Avenue and Saks Off Fifth.
Prior to joining Insight, Mr. Berger held President and Chief Executive Officer positions from 1998 to 2017 at private and publicly held companies including The Franklin Mint, WeddingChannel.com, Spark Networks and Digital Room Incorporated. He also served as a private and public company director at Pictage, PeopleSupport and Savings.com. Adam began his career as an engineer at The Procter and Gamble Company before changing to Brand Management and Advertising. Adam spent four years at The Boston Consulting Group serving automotive, publishing, cable, and consumer product clients.
Mr. Berger received his BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA with distinction from Harvard University.
Adam resides in Santa Barbara with his wife Susan and their dog Olive. The couple have two grown children, Adrian (he/ Carnegie Mellon University alumnus/lives in Los Angeles) and Mollie (she/ Emory University alumna/lives in NYC), who are both management consultants. Susan and Adam are avid supporters of live music and theater in Santa Barbara and Los Angeles. Susan loves to cook and does it well, which works great because Adam loves to eat and justifies it by road biking four to five days a week. Adam loves to sail but doesn’t get out as much as he would like.
